Gamble, Hamilton Jr.

Hamilton Gamble Jr., the son of Missouri Governor Hamilton R. Gamble, was born November 11, 1838, in St. Louis, Missouri. When his father became governor in 1861, young Gamble was appointed a colonel and assigned to the governor’s staff as aide-de-camp and assistant inspector general; he held the same positions in the Missouri State Militia.

Gamble married Sarah Goode Minor on December 22, 1863; he died on April 11, 1877, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was buried in St. Louis.
