Standing in the rear (left to right) are John Bankhead Magruder and William P. Hardeman. Seated (left to right) are Henry W. Allen, Sterling Price, and Thomas C. Hindman. Eventually all returned to the United States; Hindman was assassinated in his home in 1868, and Price died in poverty in 1867.
