Hollis Wilson of Woodford County, Illinois, enlisted in Company E, 108th Illinois Infantry on August 9, 1862; he was mustered into service on August 28, for three years. The regiment helped capture Fort Hindman (Arkansas Post) in January 1863, then participated in the Vicksburg campaign and the battles of Brice’s Cross Roads, Spanish Fort, and Fort Blakely. The regiment mustered out of service on August 5, 1865, at Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Wilson died on November 5, 1917, in Goddard, Kansas.
