Fraker, Robert M.

Robert Fraker enlisted on March 1, 1862, and was mustered in as a private in Company K, 6th Missouri Cavalry, at Rolla, Missouri. He was promoted to corporal in May 1862 and first sergeant that November; he was promoted to first lieutenant on February 4, 1864, and transferred to Company E. On October 25, 1864, he was promoted to captain and assumed command of the company.

The 6th Missouri Cavalry fought in numerous battles, including Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove, the siege of Vicksburg, and the Red River campaign.

Fraker was mustered out with his company on September 12, 1865, at New Orleans, Louisiana.
