Fullager, Benjamin

Benjamin Fullager enlisted as a private in Company A, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry, on October 21, 1861, at Janesville, Wisconsin, and was mustered in on November 30, 1861. On April 16, 1862, he was promoted to wagoner; on October 20, 1862, he was promoted to quartermaster sergeant. Commissioned a captain on May 1, 1865, Fullager was assigned as commander of Company K.

The 3rd Wisconsin was assigned to the Army of the Frontier and saw action at the 1862 battles of Newtonia and Prairie Grove, the 1863 battle of Honey Springs, and the 1864 actions at Lexington, Little Blue River, Byram’s Ford, Westport, Mine Creek, Marmiton River, and Newtonia.

Fullager was mustered out of the service on September 29, 1865, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
