George Holloway was commissioned a first lieutenant and mustered into the 33rd Missouri Infantry on August 7, 1862, as regimental adjutant. On December 22, 1862, he was detached to serve as acting assistant adjutant general of volunteers to General Clinton B. Fisk; on June 2, 1863, he was promoted to captain and received a commission as assistant adjutant general from the president.
Holloway died on December 22, 1910.
