The Jasper County Records Research Center is one of the few county research centers in the state of Missouri established for public research.
Their collections contain vital research information on:
– Names and data on Jasper County inhabitants
–Â Historic maps of the area
– Civil War events from the region, including the1861 Battle of Carthage
– 19th century court documents
The Center also houses the archives of Jasper County historian Marvin L. VanGilder, the Carthage Press newspaper and two local photographers’ negative collections.
